Natives of Chicago Heights, the Mighty Marvelows scored a top 40 pop hit in 1965 with “I Do.” The group recorded several singles and one LP with ABC-Paramount under the guidance of Johnny Pate before splitting up in 1969. Members included Melvin Mason, Frank Paden, Johnny Paden, Jesse Smith, and Willie Stephenson.
